FEYNLAB® MARINE COAT
Product Description
The FEYNLAB® MARINE COAT system is a next generation Marine Coating System suitable for both the professional & enthusiast installer. Built on the backbone of FEYNLAB®’s HYDRO MARINE System, this coating system is both a breeze to install and shockingly durable.
PRODUCT BENEFITS
The FEYNLAB® MARINE COAT system is designed to handle the harsh conditions of watercraft. This hardcore UV coating protection is compatible with gel and clear coat finishes. The MARINE COAT system uses smart nano particles which scatter UV rays at an incredible success rate, so the probability of UV reaching the paint surface is reduced to roughly 1%. This solves the age old issue of the yellow, chalky, and powdery gel-coat oxidation from UV damage.
Our MARINE COAT system creates a hydrophobic surface, causing water and contamination to quickly release. This speeds up rinse downs after use, making cleaning ultra-simple. (Assuming the watercraft is dry docked and not sitting in water for prolonged periods, where anti-fouling would be required.)
The hydrophobic properties of the MARINE COAT system help decrease water drag when applied below the waterline.
MARINE COAT is FEYNLAB’s most user-friendly marine coating solution.

Prepping the Gel Coat Surface
Thoroughly clean the vessel’s surface using FEYNLAB® MARINE WASH or ECOWASH. Follow with a topical decontamination clay treatment using FEYNLAB® PRIME.
Polish all surfaces to be coated by applying 4 dots of FEYNLAB® MARINE COAT 1 – RESIN COMPOUND to your polishing pad to prime. Polish area to be treated with MARINE COAT 1 and wipe clear with Microfiber towel. If major correction is needed, use FEYNLAB
Directions
Prior to application, place vessel in a well-lit area, preferably in a temperature controlled, contaminate free environment. Have plenty of microfiber towels and 2-4 applicators on hand before application.
It is recommended that you tape / mask off any areas not approved for application of FEYNLAB® MARINE COAT 2 – PROTECTIVE COATING.
Shake the bottle for 2 minutes before use. Open the bottle slowly to release any pressure that might have occurred.
Apply enough MARINE COAT 2 to the microfiber sponge to cover your intended area. If working in a shaded, temperature-controlled environment, you should be able to cover the sides of a 15-30ft center console before the coating sets up beyond the point of being able to wipe the surface clear. If working outdoors in direct sunlight, application sections will need to be substantially decreased.
Starting with the middle of the section you intend to coat, drag coating out making an “X” or “+” sign and then continue to apply coating first in a circular pattern fully covering the intended area. After complete coverage in circles, finish in straight lines with little to no pressure to ensure even coverage and consistent drying times.
Swipe test after your section to make sure the coating is not setup yet, if still wet continue down the rest of half of the boat or possibly the full side. Once you coat either half the side or the full side (depending on your current conditions) gently wipe the surface clear with a clean microfiber towel.
Ensure you have plenty of clean microfiber towels for wiping the surface clear. As the towel becomes contaminated, its effectiveness substantially decreases. Trade out to a clean towel as often as necessary.
Final Inspection
Be sure to carefully inspect all finished panels for any leftover coating residue (high spots) during the final wipe. Pay close attention to edges, emblems, and other tight areas that tend to be missed. High spots are much easier to remove if caught within a 20-40 minute window after the final wipe, rather than later, when the coating has set and curing has started.
Curing
Allow boat to sit in the sun as long as possible before it leaves your work area. Do not allow boat to enter water for a minimum recommended time of 48 hours. Avoid chemical exposure for 7 days. Wash and maintain vessel using FEYNLAB MARINE WASH or FEYNLAB MARINE ECO-WASH.
